BUFFALO RESTAURANTS Blue Monk 727 Elmwood Ave Buffalo, New York 14222 I was so happy to see that the Blue Monk was open on New Year's Day, and I was very eager to give this new Belgium beer bar on Elmwood Avenue a try. Our server recommended the braised short rib sandwich which was amazing, really juicy and tasty. We also had the duck reuben with duck fat fries which were good, but the reuben did need a bit more flavor. The beer list was extremely impressive and also reasonable priced. The Blue Monk is certainly one of a kind, i wish Buffalo had more establishments like it. But, it's sad when the only negative was the service, we spent the first 15 minutes waiting for an server, to not even get an "Hello, someone will be right with you" is very disappointing. When the dining area is that small and you only have a couple of tables, theirs no excuse. * Fun Fact * The Artvoice once referred to the Blue Monk as the Blue Nun.
